Sunoh
Android music app that plays YouTube Music, Gaana and Saavn plus your local files through one ad-free interface.
Open source alternative to:

Sunoh is a free, open source music app for Android that brings multiple streaming sources together in a single interface. It plays from YouTube Music, Gaana, and JioSaavn — including the YouTube Music home feed with its editorial rows, moods and genres, playlists, albums, and artist pages with one-tap radio — alongside the music already stored on your phone, so a single search covers every source. Podcasts and audiobooks are handled in the same app.
Playback is powered by mpv, with a gapless, reorderable queue, shuffle and repeat, an equalizer, a sleep timer, Chromecast support, and synced lyrics via LRCLIB. On YouTube tracks, a SponsorBlock integration skips sponsor reads, intros, outros, and other non-music segments. Downloaded tracks play offline, and full Android Auto support covers browsing, playback, radio stations, and voice search.
Sunoh is built for listeners who want one app instead of juggling separate clients for each service. Unlike Spotify or YouTube Premium, it requires no account, shows no ads, and collects no analytics — there is no sign-in anywhere and no telemetry SDK in the app. It is built with Flutter and Kotlin, distributed as APKs from GitHub Releases with Obtainium support, and licensed under GPL-3.0.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which platforms does Sunoh support?
Sunoh is Android-only and requires Android 7.0 or newer. Release APKs are published on GitHub Releases for arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, and x86_64 devices, and the recommended install route is Obtainium, which tracks the repo's releases and installs updates automatically. The app can also check for and install updates itself. There is no iOS, desktop, or web version.
Does Sunoh require an account or sign-in?
No. There is no sign-in anywhere in the app and no user identity is created. The developer states there are no analytics of any kind — the Firebase SDK was removed outright rather than made optional — and on-device music is read through MediaStore and never leaves the phone. SponsorBlock lookups only send a short hash prefix of a video id.
Can I import my existing playlists into Sunoh?
Yes. Sunoh can import your playlists from Spotify. Imported playlists live alongside your liked songs and recently played history in the app's library, and you can also create your own playlists and download tracks for offline listening.
Does Sunoh work with Android Auto?
Yes. Sunoh supports full browse and playback in Android Auto, including Downloads, Liked Songs, Recently Played, playlists, radio stations, and voice search, plus its Music, Podcasts, and Audiobooks feeds. Downloads are surfaced first in the car, since they keep working when the network drops.
Does Sunoh show lyrics?
Yes. Sunoh displays synced lyrics fetched from LRCLIB, a free, open lyrics database, while a track is playing. Combined with the mpv audio engine, the app also offers an equalizer, a sleep timer, Chromecast casting, and a media notification with a working seekbar during background playback.
